Destilerija Zlokolica
In the very heart of the Vojvodina plains, where the sky meets the earth, about twenty minutes from Novi Sad, lies the village of Žabalj — home to Destilerija Zlokolica. This distillery tells the story of a woman, Danijela, who poured her love and dreams into a bottle, supported selflessly by her family — her husband Stevan and children Marija, Jelena, and Slavko. Led by feminine creativity and courage, three unique labels of distinctive brandy were created, leaving no one indifferent.
Without a family tradition of brandy making or our own orchards, we entered the business gradually and naturally. The pear orchard (Williams variety) was established in 2017 on 1.3 hectares, and in 2021, we bravely embarked on the distillery path. We feared neither the market nor the competition. From the start, our mission has been to offer high-quality brandy – Perla, “a pearl in a bottle.”
The distillery is equipped with modern technology ensuring that every bottle captures the full character of the fruit, proven by numerous awards. This character comes from our land and climate — our orchards receive over 2,000 hours of sunlight annually, with moderate winds and significant temperature variations between day and night. By applying all agrotechnical measures, we obtain high-quality raw materials that make our “pearl in a bottle” shine.
Our philosophy is based solely on creating quality. Quantity is not an option, as the harmony of aroma, taste, and fragrance makes Perla truly special — crafted with love, effort, and patience. Everything takes time — the most valuable resource we all share.
