Our ancestors didn’t take shortcuts either when they carefully chose the best fruits of grapes, plums, and apricots over centuries, patiently planted the finest fruit varieties, forged better stills, and selected the best wood for barrels – all to produce premium spirits. Supported by modern technology and production processes, Zekić Distillery has taken the experience of previous generations of spirit makers in this region and followed their steps. The knowledge of our ancestors, combined with fertile land and the ideal position of our homeland, results in authentic brandies. No matter which Zekić rakija reaches your table – the journey always starts the same: the small village of Šumarovac, at the foot of Jastrebac, surrounded by the best plum, quince, cherry, pear, apple, and apricot orchards. There, our distillery is located. And there are no shortcuts – just like there are none to a good rakija.
